Q. I'm interested in a Canadian canoe, how difficult is it to steer?
A. The Stearns Back Country canoe is very easy to paddle with either a single ended canoe paddle or a traditional kayak paddle.
Q. How long does it take to inflate?
A. Once you are familiar with the Stearns Back Country canoe it won't take you more than 5 minutes to inflate.
Q. Do I have to align the bladders in the sides every time I inflate the Stearns Back Country canoe?
A. On first inflation it is worth checking they are straight, but otherwise, only check if the shape looks odd, or the craft floats unevenly.
Q. Is it suitable for taking the kids out?
A. Perfect! Though don't forget they will need to wear buoyancy jackets as well.
Q. With the kids where is the best place to sit?
A. Personal choice, but I prefer an adult in the back & e.g. the two "little ones" in the front.
Q. How stable is it?
A. Very! Inflatables are very stable, the Stearns Back Country it is a perfect flat water open canoe, suitable for introducing your kids to the water.
Q. Can the Stearns Back Country be used in the sea?
A. Yes, on a flat sea. Don't forget to hose down with fresh water before storing away.
Q. What is the best way to fold the Stearns Back Country to get it back in to its bag?
A. Remove the seats & lay flat. Make sure you get all the air out of the canoe. Leave the valves open when you pack away. Now fold the sides of the Stearns Back Country to just over the mid-line of the canoe to form a rectangle. Now, from one end, make a fold just shorter than the length of the bag, repeat squeezing the air out as your go.
